Hau kola (greetings friends).
So it's been a hot minute since I shared anything. I've been struggling with my anxiety/panic disorder a lot lately which lead to me asking for a hiatus from writing for
Then I was laid off from my job as a writer, editor and trainer.
Thanks Musk & Zuck!
Their mismanagement—total incompetence in Musk's case—took a once thriving company to the brink of bankruptcy and drastic measures were needed to stay afloat.
I honestly bear no ill will. It wasn’t personal or even business—it was survival.
They were an amazing organization to work for since September of 2016. 💔 I'm grateful they were able to keep me on staff as long as they did.
So after a week of processing, you can expect to see more of me here.
I'm already working on five new pieces about:
can you be Christian and not a bigot
where my commitment to LGBTQ+ equality came from
Hawaii and what Indigenous peoples mean by “decolonize”
thoughts from the marginalized view
how people like Donald Trump, Brett Kavanaugh and Brock Turner are created
I'm also going to start doing a weekly meme post.
I've been going through my archives since I was laid off and I've accumulated quite a few mostly humorous memes I want to share.

Philámayaye wopíla (thank you very much) for the vote of confidence and making space for a neurodivergent, gender stereotype nonconforming, Indigenous woman in the public sphere.
Talk with you all soon.
Aŋpétu wašté yuhá pe (have a good day)!
People are easily honest about physical health issues, but rarely mental health issues. Thank you for your clarity and honesty about all of it . May the universe bring you plenty - plenty of resources, plenty of income, plenty of peace. From another ND person just trying to make it.
I am happy we will be seeing more of you. I am NOT happy about the circumstances that caused it.
You touched me with your honesty and openness.
It is difficult enough dealing with the attitudes of ‘perfect people’ who refuse to understand, but having to deal with their bigotry and ignorance too has to mean seeing the ugliest of human beings.
You not only do it with beauty, you provide such clarity!
My first comment to you, from what I remember, was something like this: - if I am ever in a place that I am able to subscribe- yours will be one of the first I will add.
Thank you for being yourself and teaching us about so many things!
Much love and a brighter future ❤️🌹✌🏻
